Soil conditioners are used to amend soil.  This is commonly done by topdressing.  Amending the soil is done to promote drainage, and hold water against the root system of the turf.  In a sport setting it also improves the footing on the playing surface.
Game On offers a natural color version of its popular Game On Red product that is idea for topdressing.  Unlike sand Game On soil conditioner holds water, and releases it slowly during short dry spells in addition to aerating the soil.  Game On soil conditioners are very popular in number of high end horticulture circles like bonsai trees, and building top gardens.

We recommend first aerating the turf then using a top dresser to apply the soil conditioner to the aerated surface.

Amending soil is really a must when an athletic field contains too much clay.  Clay soil will repel water, and prevent moisture from getting to the root structure.  Heavily clay soils are also a nightmare to fall on.
